Welcome to the Fourth Annual Western Springs Tower Tourney! 

We hope all the players, their fans, parents and coaches have an enjoyable time in Western Springs and the surrounding area. The Western Springs Lacrosse teams, their parents and volunteers are happy to host our guests for what we hope will be and fun and exciting day of lacrosse!

Team trophies awarded to first and second places in each division. 

Rules

·         The games will be following U.S. Lacrosse boys lacrosse rules.

  • Coaches must check in at HQ tent 45 minutes prior to first game. 
  • Winner of game to report score to HQ.
  • Common game horn. The horn will sound at game start, halftime, second half start, and end of game.
  • Games will be played with a running clock, two 20 minute halves with 5 minute halftime.  Refs will keep penalty time.
  • No timeouts. 
  • Penalties are 45 seconds and 90 seconds running clock once player has reached penalty box.
  • No horn for subs.  Substitutions are done on the fly, after a goal or after a penalty.
  • Clearing
    • 7/8 – 20 seconds to clear the half line and 10 seconds into the offensive box
    • 5/6 – no count on clears or offensive box
  • Winning team must keep the ball in the box in the final two minutes.
  • Forfeits – if a team is not on the field within 5 minutes of the first half horn, they will forfeit the game.

·         In the event the game is tied at the end of regulation, teams will braveheart to determine the winner. The braveheart goal will count in the end game result.

  • No fighting as individuals involved will be ejected for that game and the remainder of the tournament.
  • No protests of referee calls.
  • Tournament Director reserves the right to final say on all matters and sole right to make interpretations on any tournament rule.  All decisions made by the Tournament Director are final.

Weather Policy

The tournament will be played, rain or shine. In the event of lightning or thunder, play will be suspended (three blasts of airhorn).  Coaches are urged to get their players off the field as soon as possible.  Refs will report to HQ.  Play will resume 30 minutes after the last lightning strike (two blows of airhorn).  Games will then be restarted shortly and we will do our best to get back on schedule.

Clean Up

All teams will be responsible for cleaning their sideline area after each game of all garbage in addition to team “campsite” before leaving the field.  

Schedules

The schedules for each division are attached as well as the field map. The schedules are subject to change at the discretion of the Tournament Director for any reason.

  • Full concession stand on site
  • Restrooms with changing facilities
  • Athletic trainer on site.
  • Commemorative, collector’s edition 4th Annual Tower Tourney T-Shirts will also be on sale for $15.00.  Purchase 25 or more for $12.00 each.

Regulations

  • Dogs NOT allowed on school grounds.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages prohibited.
  • Park in designated areas only.
